Lune Street Fish and Chips, Preston, Lancashire

A few years ago one of the Chip Fiends only had time to stop and photograph this establishment for our Instagram page. A mental bookmark was placed to consider a future visit.

We’d arrived in Preston at the famous bus station at noon and decided to head to different chip shops.

I stepped into an already busy Lune Street chippy. It was a lovely traditional looking cafe. I was shown to a table where I had a good view of the frying.

Yes it was busy but I didn’t have to wait too long before my meal of fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and “butter” and tea was brought to my table.

It wasn’t a huge meal but perfect for a lunch. The dainty chips were very nice with some crispiness to them. The mushy peas were the natural pale type I like. The batter was thin and crisp as it should be. The fish fillet was quite thin which we seem to see a lot these days but it was satisfying and deliciously fresh tasting.

All very good and certainly somewhere I would visit again.
