The Tudor Rose Fish Bar, Alvechurch, Worcestershire

This is an attractive-looking compact chip shop in Alvechurch - a village to the South West of Birmingham.

My lunch consisted of mini fish, chips, and curry sauce.

The cod (which was fried to order) was very good. A chunky fillet with  flakes that fell apart in demonstration of being perfectly steamed inside its crisp batter.

The chips were chunky but could have benefitted from being hotter.

The curry sauce was the bog-standard type with flecks of soya. It was rather thin and didn’t have much flavour.

A good amount of salt and vinegar had been put on the food for me. There are some handy benches nearby for those wishing to eat a takeaway meal in the open.Ratings out of 5:Fish (mini cod): 4Chips: 3Curry sauce: 2Shop / service: 3Over all: 3
