Supreme Fish Bar, Leicester

This chippy on Walnut Street, Leicester has gone through several changes in the past few years that appeared to be in name only. With its latest incarnation, Supreme Fish Bar, one of us thought we’d make a return visit.

It looked promising, the only items in the hot box were pies and southern fried chicken, even though the menu here is extensive. It’s one of those places that sells every fast food known to human and beast. In fact the friendly chap behind the counter was wearing a Supreme Pizza’s polo shirt.

He cooked the fish and the chips to order. We talked. About you know what. I wonder if there will ever be a time when we don’t talk about the virus.

A few minutes later I was on my way.

The chips were different to the ones we had when the shop was called Dani’s. These were more your standard chip, rather than the very thick ones we had in 2014. The batter was different too; spongy and had an elasticity to it. I wasn’t going to eat that. The fish inside was decent. Curry sauce was your bog standard.
