There are two chip shops in Bingham - a location a few miles away from Nottingham. One of those places a tad bigger than a village yet seeming too small to be a town.
On this occasion one of the Chip Fiends visited Bingham Fish Bar. This chippy has its own app should you want to order for collection or delivery. I turned up at a quiet time. Only two customers allowed in at once and wearing masks.
My haddock was cooked to order and I paid by card. There are no Perspex screens here and salt and vinegar is handled by customers.
I went to eat in the market place which had been turned into a piazza with tables and benches.
The chips fried from new potatoes were very good.
The haddock had a nice thin crisp batter but the fish itself was greyish and fell apart in small fragments rather than the big juicy white flakes that I enjoy.
The peas tasted good but were lukewarm. Perhaps the Bain Marie hadn’t had time to warm up.

Fish (haddock): 3
Chips: 4
Mushy peas: 3 (would’ve been higher had they been warmer!)
