Andy’s Fish Bar, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

Within walking distance of Melton Mowbray town centre, not that far from the Cattle Market, is a chip shop smack bang in the middle of a residential street.

As I walked along I spotted a sign behind a skip.

The signage at this Andy’s looked very familiar. We’d seen it before at the excellent Andy’s in Church Gresley. Would this chippy be as good?

It was tea time and there were a few customers already queueing when I strolled in. I chose small haddock and chips.

The flat looking chips were very nice indeed, crisp outside and burst into fluffy mash potato on the tongue. The haddock was very nice too; with a light and crisp batter, flakiness and a fresh flavour.

The residents on this street must be pleased they have this shop.
