Andy’s Chippy, Langley Mill

The question may be how many chip shops does Andy own or how many chip shops are called Andy’s?

This chip shop is set back from a main road in a promenade of shops with ample parking if you’re in the car.

We strolled in one Saturday lunchtime and ordered mini fish and chips with a side of curry sauce with one and mushy peas with the other.

As we were being served an abundance of large battered sausages were being piled in the heated display; they looked exceptional and must be very popular here.

The service was friendly and salt and vinegar was added before the sauce and fish were added on top.

The food looked very appealing apart from the emerald peas. In retrospect the choice of peas was a bad idea. They solidified into green cement and didn’t taste particularly nice either. It was a shame because the fish and chips were super.

The battered haddock was fresh and tasty with a light crispy batter. The medium cut chips were crisp outside and fluffy inside. The curry sauce had a nice thick consistency and sweetness.

It was a generous portion for £5.40.
