Crispins, Brislington, Bristol

This modern looking chippy is half way up a hill in Brislington, Bristol. This Chip Fiend was intrigued by the place as it had an interesting menu that included battered Mars Bars and mushy pea fritters. It’s also worth noting that the shop appeared to have two names; Crispies and Crispins.

On this visit I had cod and chips and a pea fritter. There are tables in the shop but I took mine away wrapped.

The cod was very good. Nice and thickly portioned. The batter wasn’t heavy. I only noticed the cod had skin on halfway through the meal. The chips were medium cut and had gone a tad soft and greasy from being wrapped but were very tasty.

The pea fritter was quite large and flat, ideal for breaking to share.
