Lucy's 2, Norwich Market

Regular readers of our blog will know that we have visited Norwich Market on several occasions before. We have eaten mushy peas at the pea stall, had fish and chips at Ron's and chips at Lucy's. On a more recent visit one of the Chip Fiends fancied chips again (of course!) but this time visited Lucy's 2. This is Lucy's stall that also serves fish as well as chips.

There was a pretty long queue on the lunchtime I visited so there was plenty of time to digest the menu. Specials included sweet potato or carrot fries, battered halloumi and battered gherkins. I also noticed American spice on the counter which is becoming very popular these days.

This Chip Fiend ordered regular haddock, chips and a gherkin. Lucy's 2 also serve cod and plaice, and the haddock and cod come in two sizes. All the fish and specials are cooked to order and the service is chipper and friendly. Good news.

After a short wait I was given my meal in a card box with wedge of lemon and wooden knife and fork. The gherkin came in a nifty 'Lucy's' bag.

I sat above the market near the elegant town hall to tuck into my delicious lunch. The fish was moist and fresh in a very thin, crispy batter. The thin chips were a little bit chewy. Nevertheless Lucy's 2 is another good recommendation for chip lovers in Norwich.
