The Bucket List, Overstrand

The Chip Fiends tried out one of the buckets from The Bucket List - a horse box that has been transformed into a mobile kitchen. The Bucket List cater at events in Norfolk and at the time of our visit, parked up regularly to serve at Paul's Lane car park in Overstrand. Since then, the owners have opened up a more permanent residence on Hamilton Road in Cromer.

A quick perusal of their social media accounts will tell you that they serve chips with unusual and exotic toppings such as:

Banham chicken, yoghurt and coriander;
Braised beef, horseradish, pea purée, rich gravy;
Spanish pork meatballs, rich tomato ragu, crumbed feta, chorizo aioli, basil;
Goats cheese, garlic mushrooms, sweet onion.

The menu alters from week to week which keeps things interesting.

On our visit the Fiends tried chips with smoked cheddar, sweet chilli sauce and aioli. £5.50 for quite a generous portion served in a smart looking card 'bucket' with a wooden folk and some friendly, chatty service.

The chips were very crispy. Not quite fries, but thin for chips. There was plenty of topping to flavour them, some of which managed to work its way down to the bottom of the bucket so that a cheesy chilli surprise re-emerged at the conclusion of the meal. The meal sustained us on our coastal walk!
