This is a popular chip shop on the outskirts of Derby in Little Eaton. We know it's popular because the chippy was as busy in mid week (when we visited) as most others are on a Friday night.
Little Eaton Fish Bar is compact, brightly kit, sparklingly clean, and with the name emblazoned on the counter.
Between us we ordered cod, chips and curry sauce, and haddock, chips and peas. The cod was fried to order, so was fresher than the haddock that was already waiting in the display cabinet.
We had our sauces dolloped over the chips. The peas amalgamated with the potato in a sticky mass. The curry sauce was nothing special. A bit thin and insipid. The freshly cooked cod was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit.
