The Little Fish and Chip Shop, Southwold

The customer service at the Little Fish and Chip Shop is top notch. In a quality chippy like this in posh Southwold you would expect to queue for quite a while... but this establishment has got a really good system for serving their clientele smoothly and swiftly.

Enter, place your order and pay. The server will then take your first name so that they can call you when the food is ready. (There are benches outside where you can sit and wait). Not only does this mean that all the takeaway meals are fried to order, but you also experience what feels like a jolly and personal service as you are called in to collect your food!

This Chip Fiend had haddock, chips and a wally (gherkin) for about £8.50.

The food is cartoned and bagged in nifty looking packaging with sketches of the shop on it. A short walk from East Street to the prom gives you a sea view while you eat the delicious fish 'n' chips.

The haddock that I had was very good. Sweet and tender with a delicate golden batter. The chips were a dark golden colour.

The wally was an extra tasty treat. The meal came with a juicy wedge of lemon and a sprig of parsley. I ate this garnish for some extra vitamins.

Delightful.

There is an indoor seating area in the chip shop and other fish on the menu include cod, plaice, skate, Dover sole, rock salmon, and mackerel.
