B My Chip, Sutton Coldfield

We had heard good things about this chippy, so it was on our "must visit" list.

B My Chip is on the Lichfield Road, opposite the police station. A short stroll out of the town centre. It wasn't long before we were stood inside looking at the menu. Our decisions were made promptly when we saw a sign for an offer on small fish, chips and mushy peas for £3.30.

As we waited for the food to be cooked we noticed an award on the counter from 2009.
The Keith Chegwin Perfect Portion Award for the West Midlands, given during National Chip Week.

The portion was very good value for money for £3.30 and just the right amount for a lunchtime nosh up.

There are a few bar stools for eating in but we found a bench outside the cop shop.

B My Chip describe their chips as fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. They're not wrong; that's exactly how we'd describe them too. What they forgot to say is that they are also full of flavour. They really were very good.

The small portion of skinless fish was very succulent and in a very crisp batter. One can only dream what the large portions are like.

The mushy peas were the type we prefer; pale, undyed and some peas with bite in the sauce. The meal was quite difficult to eat with the tiny fork they give out but we persevered and soon our bellies were full.

This really is a chip shop deserving of awards.
