Trawlers Catch, Sheffield

A conveniently situated chippy in Sheffield city centre. It's a no frills, traditional shop that was busy on the lunchtime we visited.

One of the Chip Fiends ordered mini fish, chips and peas and the other ordered a fish rissole.

We'll be honest here and admit we didn't know what a fish rissole was. It was cooked to order. When it was served we discovered it was processed fish cake. Fish cakes were on the menu too but we imagine these would be the Yorkshire type, with fish sandwiched between sliced potato and battered.

The chips were cut thin, like they often are in Sheffield and were delicious. The mushy peas dolloped on top were also very good.

The small portion of fish was fresh and just the right size for a lunchtime snack.

The fish rissole was as you'd expect. We rather wished we'd gone for a fishcake instead.
