Extra Fish, Rugby

The Chip Fiends spotted this large fish and chip shop as they strolled from Rugby railway station. Having peered through the windows with our mouths watering we decided to pop in.

Service was friendly and efficient, with one member of staff doing the frying and another serving. We decided to have mini fish, chips and peas, which must have been a "meal deal" as it was super-good value at £3.50. The portion was generous for this price.

We sat at some high stools near the window to eat in. We noticed a large coffee machine at this end of the shop but it wasn't switched on during this visit.

The chips were a little lukewarm, so weren't that exciting but they were a decent, medium cut.

The small skinless portion of cod was cut thick, with large flakes demonstrating its freshness. The mushy peas were delicious and made a great chip and pea mix as we ate.
