Poppies Kiosk, Spitalfields Market

You know how much the Chip Fiends enjoyed their visit to Poppies restaurant in Spitalfields. On this visit to London we opted for fish and chips at Poppies kiosk in order to soak up the atmosphere of the market.

There were some interesting items on the menu including cod roe and mackerel fillets. The latter had sold out so we went for haddock and chips for £8.50.

We waited a short while on the bench nearby for the fish to be cooked to order.

The meal came in a Poppies lidded card tray, and napkins and clear plastic cutlery were provided.

The fish was very good, with a light crispy batter. It was a late afternoon and a steady flow of customers were buying chips for tea and enjoying a chat as the market stall holders packed away their bric a brac.

Pop to this handy chippy if you're in the area and fancy an alternative to a Poppies restaurant meal.
