The Vintage Fish Shop, Stoke on Trent

The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke on Trent has preserved the fryer and some of the fixtures from Williams's fish shop, which opened at 62 Regent Road, Hanley, in 1923.

The Chip Fiends were delighted to see this beauty with its ceramic tiles and port hole style mirrors.

The maker's name 'H Nuttall of Rochdale' is clearly displayed.

The chip cutting device on the counter is an added bonus, as is the price list showing Fish 2d and Chips 1d. Tripe is also on the menu!

If you are visiting Stoke, pop along to the museum where you'll find this vintage chippy in the Social History gallery.
