Buck's Chippy, Leicester

In a parallel universe a Chip Fiend is probably driving in a Dymaxion car to a chip shop in a geodesic dome. Said chippy is probably named Buck's Chippy; named after Buckminster Fuller.

This Chip Fiend arrived on shanks' pony at a takeaway named Buck's Chippy, so named because it stands on Buckminster Road.

It's a popular place, famed for big portions. It was lunchtime so mini fish, chips and mushy peas was ordered. The mini fish wasn't far off medium sized. The whole meal was very good VFM for less than four quid.

One concern was the number of fish (full sized and mini) already in the heated display. You know how us Chip Fiends prefer them cooked to order. The cod was delicious but the batter had started to become a little chewy.

The chips were super; medium thick, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, just how we like them. The peas were a little too green for our liking but tasted OK.

We heard there was another shop nearby called Bucks 2 Chippy. We may also give that a whirl one day.
