The Fish Shop stands on the busy A140 Norwich Road. Looking not dissimilar to a Little Chef roadside cafe, this smart and compact chippy is convenient for motorists and bus users alike. The X44 stops just outside the door.
The Chip Fiends called in mid afternoon and ate in the restaurant. If you have a takeaway during the summer months there are picnic benches outside.
We had large haddock and chips with a pot of tea. You can have ketchup, mayo or tartare sauce with your order. The service here was top notch and the restaurant itself is comfortably modern and spotless. A local radio station was being piped into the dining room.
The food arrived promptly and piping hot. The chips were medium thickness and very tasty. The haddock was firm and delicious too. The batter was a little bit moist inside so we left some of it. The mushy peas were nice, but strangely unmushy!
The Fish Shop is open 7 days a week. Call in if you are on the A140 and looking for a bite to eat.
