Two Steps, Sheffield

Saturday lunch time. Very busy. Very popular. As we approached the shop from a distance we noticed several customers walking down the road carrying parcels of food. This was a good sign.

We stepped into the small shop. Forgot to count the steps. There was a fast moving queue. Many were ordering the specials of sausage or mini fish, chips and a side on a tray for £2.25. Very good value but we fancied a regular portion of fish.

We chose cod (skinless). It was cut thick with large firm flakes. The batter was crunchy and thick. Perhaps a little thicker than we usually enjoy but it was very tasty.
The chips were very good; medium cut and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We really enjoyed this lunchtime takeaway.
