Tony's Chippy, Sheepridge, Huddersfield

Tony's Chippy is on the brow of a hill in Sheepridge, a couple of miles or so north of Huddersfield city centre.
As the Chip Fiends reached the summit of Deighton Road we could smell delightful aromas that made us feel like we were at the seaside!

Service was prompt and efficient with several staff serving. We were knocked out by the good value; regular fish and chips was £3.80. Mini fish and chips £2.60.

We ordered our food "open" and the meals were expertly wrapped in paper, our preferred method of serving and a rarity these days. One of the Chip Fiends had a sprinkling of batter bits (or scraps) on top. Paper napkins were provided.

The chips were made from new potatoes so were medium thick and on the soft side, as expected. The batter had a good crisp crunch to it. The skinless fish inside was sweet and fresh.

The mushy peas were definitely some of the best we'd ever had, the perfect mush with some bite to the peas.
We can see why Tony's is a popular chippy.
