Tony's Traditional Fish and Chips is in a village named Mosborough a few miles out of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
Tony's tiny shop was filling Chapel Street with lovely aromas as we approached one busy lunchtime. Customers were buying chip butties and fish and chips and eating them in parked cars and vans nearby.
Cod and chips was served on paper at a very good £5.20.
The flavoursome chips were medium cut and pale, the cod was encased in a dark orange coloured crunchy batter.
The firm sweet flakes of skinless fish didn't disappoint. There was some sogginess in the batter underneath but it didn't impair the flavour.
