Burton Road Chippy, Lincoln

Burton Road Chippy is located in a residential area a short walk from Lincoln Cathedral. Some of the Chip Fiends found themselves heading that way with bellies in need of filling.

The Chippy has a website and their extensive menu can be viewed online. The Chip Fiends were glad they had a peep at the website before visiting, as there is so much choice it would have been difficult for them to decide what to order on the spot.

We were impressed with the attentive and friendly service, noting how welcome customers are made to feel. The shop was gleaming and awards are proudly on display.

One Chip Fiend ordered a shop made fish cake and a mushy pea fritter with their chips. Other Chip Fiend ordered haddock, chips and curry sauce.

The mushy pea fritter and curry sauce were some of the best we'd ever tasted. The pea fritter had a very light, thin batter so it was in no way stodgy. The curry sauce was satisfyingly thick and full of flavour; somewhere between chip shop sauce and Chinese takeaway style sauce. We were most impressed.

The chips and fish (cooked to order) were also superb and very fresh tasting.

We would recommend anyone visiting Lincoln to eat at Burton Road Chippy, they also have a restaurant as well as the shop.
