Dave's Fish and Chips, Sheringham

Dave's is one of many chippies in Sheringham... But it's a chippy that stands out, despite being tucked down a side street.

The Chip Fiends have visited Dave's on a couple of occasions - once to eat regular chips, and another time to try the chips prepared with new potatoes. The regular kind were first rate. We would say they were the best in town.

The new potatoes were also nice but not quite in the same league... The latter had that translucent quality that new potato chips sometimes have. Mind you, they were all eaten with much lip-smacking relish and accompanied by some fine pieces of haddock in the most delicious crispy batter.

If you are hungry for chips in Sheringham - have a peak down Co-Operative Street and look out for the unmistakable yellow signs. The flags outside the shop have the legends 'CHIPS' on one side and 'FISH' on the other.

Dave's has a restaurant as well as a takeaway; some benches out front; and also a large rear garden with picnic tables and flowers in planters. Perfect for a sunny day. This shows the shop is well prepared to serve many people, and that Dave's care about their customers.
