There's a chip shop in Derby named Savoy. It's been empty a number of years.
If you peer through the dirty windows you can see it as it was left, preserved under a layer of dust and grime. Oil seeps from the deep fat fryer onto the floor, sheets of newsprint laid out on the counter ready to wrap someone's meal that will never be cooked.
When was the last time a portion of cod cost £2.10 ?
A solitary bottle of vinegar stands, when it was last shaken is anyone's guess.
It's heartbreaking to see a chip shop stood empty for so long.
