Four Ways (also known as 4 Ways) recently won the Best Chips in Leicestershire in the annual Choice Chip Awards. We rushed to try them ourselves.
The shop is a short walk away from the Castle Street shopping area in the town of Hinckley and the familiar Pukka Pies signs help to spot it from a distance.
A sizeable portion of skinless cod was cooked to order. The batter was crispy but quite thick. The chips were chunky but a little too greasy on this visit.
Salt and vinegar is kept behind the counter so the staff do the shake and splash here. This fiend would much prefer to do their own shake and splash thank you. Especially if the chips are greasy.
They serve a Chip Batch here for £1.50. You might call a Chip Batch a Chip Cob, a Chip Roll, a Chip Breadcake or a Chip Butty depending on where you live!
