Frydales, Leicester

I need to tell you about an excellent Fish and Chip shop in Leicester. It's called Frydales.

One of the Chip Fiends discovered this place by chance in 2013 when they were passing on a bus. A month or two later they thought they'd give it a try.
If I told you they've returned several times over then you'll get the idea of how good the food is here.

As well as the usual cod, haddock, pies, and burgers and so on, the menu offers black pudding, battered beef burgers and spam fritters. I haven't seen a battered beef burger since the 1980s. Or eaten one, for that matter.

The meal deals here offer super value for money, and the portions are more than adequate.

Veggie option, chips and side is £2.50.
Pie, chips and a side is £3.30.
Small haddock, chips and a side is £4.20. Frydales' small haddock would be a medium size in most chip shops, they're that generous. See the photo below.

Look out for their special offers too, like the one they did in summer 2013 where everything was half price on some days of the week between 4pm and 6pm.

Their Monday's are Gluten free.

Frydales are on Hinckley Road, Leicester.
