National Chip week runs from 17 - 23 February this year.
At the beginning of the week East Midlands Trains announced they were giving away free chips each day at selected Railway Stations.
Leicester was chosen for Wednesday and was the first chance for one of the Chip Fiends to try some.
The chips were cooked in a van at the front of the station and served in a cone with a choice of sauces.
This Chip Fiend stuck with salt and vinegar. The chips were good and hot, somewhat reminiscent of a "canteen chip." Not particularly potatoey in flavour yet nice and crisp.
