Deniz Fish Bar, Bedford

It felt like Costa Del Bedford on this sunny day, sat on a bench and dipping medium thick chips into a very thick Chinese style curry sauce. 

Deniz is situated just outside the city centre. A traditional looking corner chippy. These kind of places are becoming more rare; replaced by chippies that also sell kebabs and pizza.

Mind you, they did have something on the menu that wasn’t trad, a spud that was cut into a spiral and deep fried and served on a stick. I didn’t partake in this delicacy. 

The fish was a large fillet in a flat but light and crisp batter, cooked to order and with a nice fresh flaking.

That curry sauce was definitely the star of the show here.
