Millennium Fish Bar, Leicester

I don’t know how long this chip shop has been here. One can assume it has been around twenty-three years. Gosh, was it that long ago that pubs started charging an entrance fee on New Year’s Eve and some folk were in fear of their computers going into meltdown? Doesn’t time fly.

I stepped in and my gaze was immediately drawn to the (fake) shark’s head mounted on one of the walls. Was shark on the menu?

I ordered mini fish (skin on haddock), chips and curry sauce.
Their website states “cooked fresh n’ often” and this was confirmed, they were cooking to order.

The batter was very light, you could see the fish through it. It certainly tasted fresh and clean. The chips were medium cut and a sensible lunchtime portion. The curry sauce was thick and spicy, the kind that has yellow/amber tinge to it. All very delicious.
