After a bit of retail therapy (not spending any money) a couple of us spotted this chip shop, smack bang in the middle of a busy shopping street.

It could have been a “tourist trap” kind of place and the name seemed to hint at that.

I ordered fish, chips and curry sauce and the other Chip Fiend ordered chips and curry sauce. They were cooking to order, so we took a seat inside.

Now I’ve heard this place uses bagged catering chips, rather than peel and chop their own spuds. It certainly seemed the case as the chips were devoid of flavour. A while back we did a survey on our twitter and instagram accounts and it was surprising the amount of shops that said they had no issues with using pre-cut chips. In my opinion, the soul of the business is not there if you can’t be bothered to make your own chips. It’s just a means to making money with little effort.

The curry sauce was super-delicious Irish style with a sweet kick. Again I could taste that marzipan subtlety. The fish was decent, with a nice crisp and light batter.
