This chippy was busy on a Saturday lunchtime. Most customers were getting their food bagged up to take home to eat. I had mine open.
I went for the special; fish, chips and mushy peas for £4.50. It was cooked to order. The person serving asked where I wanted my peas on the tray before seasoning everything to perfection.
I chose to sit near the Frank Whittle Memorial. The fish was very good; cod in a thin and crisp batter. The homemade peas were very good also. The chips were chunky and also crisp on the outside.
