Napoli Fish Bar, New Bradwell, Milton Keynes

It’s a shame the chips were chewy. I doused them in salt and vinegar to make them more palatable but it made no difference. A real shame because everything else was spot on.

The shop is a traditional looking corner chippy a short walk from Wolverton railway station. There’s a footpath that dips from the road to remind you that Milton Keynes isn’t far away.

The batter on this cod was by far the best batter I have ever eaten. It was amazing. Thin and crisp with a bubbly texture. Incredible. The mushy peas were undyed and creamy tasting. With the addition of salt and vinegar they were even better.

It was one of those shops that left the skin on cod. Something we don’t see very often. I had a bite. It wasn’t as tasty as haddock skin but it wasn’t bad.
