Sometimes it’s very difficult to order fish and chips. One has to repeat oneself several times. You would think it so easy to order fish and chips in a shop that specialises in selling said meal.
The display had haddock in various sizes. I ordered medium but was told that they only serve haddock in a large size. Cod it was then. When I’d made it clear I wanted my meal open by saying “on a tray” I thought to myself ‘this is the term I must use from now on’ as the term “open” now seems defunct.
The shop was pleasant and spacious with added phone chargers! I plugged in whilst my fish was cooked to order.
The batter on the fish was a bit too thick for my liking. I ate some but it had little flavour so I discarded most of it. The chips were thick cut and had a nice floury texture but again had little flavour.
