The Girl With Brains In Her Feet (1997) was filmed around this area of Leicester. In fact, blink and you’ll miss it, there’s a shot of this chippy in said film. Today, it’s more a case of The Person With Chips In Their Stomach.

A Saturday lunchtime and a small haddock cooked to order with some very fresh chips. Most of the meals are conveniently listed on a huge display on one of the walls.
I ordered the small fish, chips and a side for £5.50. Very good value as the haddock was more like a medium than small.
A very fine piece of haddock with some chips that were crisp outside and fluffy inside. The curry sauce was the standard kind but had a good thick consistency.
I crossed the road and sat in Westcotes Park to eat my food whilst dogs frolicked around me, enjoying their winter walkies.
