I knew I should have turned around when I saw a member of staff wearing a vest. More so, when I saw the heated display piled with food. Too late. My mouth started moving and sound was coming out “mini fish, chips and mushy peas”
A huge pile of food was scooped into a tray. The fish didn’t appear to be mini and neither did the price at over £6.00.
One glance and it was obvious these peas were tinned. I tasted some just to make sure. Yes, they tasted revolting.
I scraped them back off the greasy chips. I peeled away the thick chewy batter to dig out the flakes of fish. I’d guess about £5.00 of the meal went in the bin.
