The Chip Fiends visited Gill's a few years ago, when the laying of the tram lines on High Road, Chilwell was causing disruption to all the shops. At the time, business was slow, but we were kept occupied on the dark, quiet evening by a 'true crime' story. You can read our previous review here.
On our return visit we noticed how much busier the shop was. We had our cod cooked to order, and ate our chippy tea on a bench by the tram stop.
The chips (fried from new potatoes) were delicious and the cod was superb. Proper 'seaside' tasting. It's fell apart in large white flakes and was housed in a mouth watering crispy batter. Highly recommended!
