Ask anyone in Loughborough about fish and chips and they'll probably mention the 300 Spartans. It's been around donkeys years.
It's open all day. We arrived late one Saturday afternoon and requested haddock and chips.
The fish was cooked to order. The gentleman serving made a point of this by saying it would be nice and fresh.
The fish certainly was nice and fresh. Succulent white flakes in a very light and crisp batter. Absolutely delicious.
We perhaps should have arrived earlier when the chips were fresh too. These were a little on the wizened side as they'd been standing a while.
