This chip shop has some opening times listed on the front door that don't appear to bear any resemblance to the times it actually opens. We've only noticed this chippy open on match days.
It's usually very busy, with lots of food pre-cooked and stocked in the heated display and hungry football or rugby fans outside at the picnic benches.
We approached as huge clouds of steam from the bubbling fat hung around the ceiling, the aroma of frying potato drifting out onto the street.
Today we bought chips only. And very good chips they were too. They were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The colour was a golden yellow.
The regular portion was generous too. We wondered how the gentleman in the queue next to us was going to have room for a large serving.
