The
Chip Fiends want to share what we think are possibly the most expert chip
wrapping skills we've ever come across.
The
take away portion of chips we had at Wale's chip shop in Nuneaton impressed us
because they were wrapped both economically and with regards to creating the least amount of waste.
We
kept the wrapper to demonstrate how one large sheet of paper with a grease proof
lining had been folded into a pocket to hold some delicious chips. Here's a
step-by-step demonstration of how the chips were wrapped...
One large sheet of paper is folded in half like so:
The
large sheet of paper is folded once again, lengthways, to hold the grease proof
pocket in place:
We
are left with a long piece of chip wrapping which is then folded two more times
- inwards from the right and then the left, to fully surround and support the
inner lining:
It
seems so simple, and negates the use for polystyrene trays!
The
lovely crinkle cut chips that were housed inside the wrapper were great too. We
recommended you order some takeaway chips from Wale's next time you're in
Nuneaton.
