It's was a busy Saturday lunchtime when the Chip Fiends arrived at Oakham Fish Bar.
The fish wasn't cooked to order, there were several battered fillets already on display; something we're not keen on, we do like our fish freshly cooked.
Service was prompt and we found a nearby bench to scoff this deep fried picnic.
We could tell this would be better if it was cooked to order; the haddock (skin on) was delicious. Alas, the batter had become soft and a little chewy.
The chips were medium thick. These were a tad greasy and soggy.
