We've previously visited this shop and were impressed with the Fish Nugget they serve here; a mini fish portion, battered and sold at a reasonable £1.10. Ideal for a lunchtime snack with a small portion of chips.
We thought we'd revisit and try a bigger portion. The shop is situated in a shopping precinct in the centre of Blaby, and usually has a steady stream of customers.
The fish wasn't cooked to order. Maybe as the shop is busy the fish isn't languishing in the heated display for long.
The fish could have been better; a skinless portion of haddock in a spongy, thick and soggy batter. Much of the batter was discarded.
The chips were medium thick and decent. It's worth noting that the member of staff that served us offered to put salt and vinegar on the chips before they placed the fish on top.
