The Valley Fish Bar, Lichfield

The Valley Fish Bar is set back from the main Eastern Avenue in Lichfield but we had no trouble finding it as there are several A-boards to point hungry Chip Fiends in the right direction.

We popped in one lunchtime. Cold, hungry and need of hot delicious food.

The fish was cooked to order whilst we read the local newspaper on the counter. The book Fish and Chips, A History was also on display here.

The service was friendly and relaxed. We were asked if we wanted our mushy peas and curry sauce in a pot or on the side in our boxed food.

The chips were good; long and thick cut. The fish was enjoyable although the batter on one of them was quite soggy so had to be discarded to enjoy the white flesh inside.

The mushy peas were very nice and came minted. This was quite a pleasant surprise. The curry sauce had lots of flavour but we prefer it a little thicker in consistency than it was on this day.
