Nemo's Fish Bar, Wellingborough

It was a very busy Saturday evening when we visited Nemo's in Wellingborough. There was a long queue but it was moving quickly due to the speed and efficiency of the staff.

There was some fine looking food on display; battered beef burgers, spring rolls, a mountain of battered sausages. The onion rings looked superb; very similar to the ones we've seen at Ocean Blue in Leicester. Large cod was very popular, so this was ordered.

We gazed at the fish swimming in the fish tank built into the shop wall and it seemed our food was ready in no time at all.

The chips were a golden yellow, medium thick and cut sort of flat. They were very crisp and delicious. The cod (skin on) was fresh and flakey. One of the Chip Fiends commented on it looking like porcelain. The batter was very crisp, it looked thick but was light and in no way stodgy. A delicious supper.
