The Chip Fiends wonder why more chippies don't serve mackerel. It's a relatively cheap and sustainable fish, and the Grosvenor's Big Mack is proof that a mackerel tastes delicious deep fried in batter.

For £3.50 your fish portion comes in a soft roll with a great big leaf of curly lettuce, tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon. You'll also get a fork to help you eat it - sensible as this posh fish sandwich is a bit too big to eat by hand.

Variants on the menu include the Rock 'n' Roll - a rock salmon portion with sweet chilli mayo £5.50 - and the Looney Toony - a tuna steak with wasabi mayo £5.50.
Our Big Mack made a lovely tea time treat eaten al fresco in the cheery Norwich Lanes.
