The Chip Fiends promised we would return to Humber Road Chippy, Beeston, Nottinghamshire, to try either the homemade fishcake or the fishcake surprise.
Unfortunately on our latest visit the staff informed us that they no longer sold homemade fishcakes, but only stocked the frozen variety.
This fiend tentatively plumped for a fishcake surprise instead. The surprise comes in the serving! This menu item is actually a fishcake with salad and sauce in a bread cake (bap). I had garlic mayo in mine but the selection includes ketchup, sweet chilli sauce or ordinary mayo.
At £1.75 this makes a reasonable lunchtime snack!
