The Batter of Bosworth, Market Bosworth.

Market Bosworth is famous for the battle in 1485 where King Richard III was slain; so this chip shop on Station Road has the ideal name.

The Chip Fiends called in on a busy Saturday lunchtime. A few pieces of cod, mini fish, sausages and home made fish cakes stood in the cabinet along with something we're very fond of; the mushy pea fritter.

Haddock was cooked to order whilst this one clocked the menu; plaice and lemon sole caught the eye, as did home made fish cakes. When a pea fritter is on the menu then chances are this will be ordered too. It was.

The haddock was cut thick (skin on). Succulent large flakes encased in a very light golden batter. Perfectly cooked. The chips were also very satisfying; crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pea fritter was large, full of flavour. Thick mushy peas also encased in the same light batter as the fish.

We really enjoyed them.
