Hi Tide, Narborough

Hi Tide was recommended to the Chip Fiends some time ago. One of us decided to head there for lunch on a crisp December afternoon.

The shop had not long been open so the fish in the cabinet was steaming hot. There are cafe style tables for eating in but a takeaway of mini haddock, chips and mushy peas was purchased for less than a fiver.

The portion of thick cut chips was on the large side. The staff thoughtfully asked if salt and vinegar was required before they ladled over the peas and placed the fish on top.

The peas were on the runny side of mushy, very pale and very tasty. Delicious.
Chips here are superb. The fish was very sweet and fresh tasting, with juicy flakes. The batter was on the thick side.

Definitely recommended and we shall visit their other shop in nearby Enderby.
