Rock and Sole Plaice, Covent Garden, London

Rock and Sole Plaice is just a couple of streets away from the crowds of Covent Garden.
A busy little fish and chip shop with a few tables inside and outside if you don't want a takeaway.

Haddock was ten minutes from being ready so the Chip Fiend decided on cod that had just come out of the fryer. Served in a box with a packaged paper napkin and knife and fork.

The cod had firm, large flakes and tasted very fresh. Served skinless in an orange coloured light and crispy batter. The batter was superb as was the cod.

The chips are probably the biggest this Chip Fiend has ever eaten. Humongous, flat and very wide. They were cooked perfectly.

These were some of the best fish and chips tasted this year.
