There’s an alleyway that runs alongside this chip shop that leads to Pughes Paddock. I spotted a man walking along this alleyway, carrying chips and curry sauce, no doubt heading to the Paddock to enjoy his lunch as I had done a few minutes earlier.
It was a glorious sunny day, perfect for alfresco dining on a park bench. I had ordered cod, chips and a pineapple fritter.
The pineapple fritter was firm and juicy. The chips were delicious; golden yellow with straight edges and no hint of greasiness. The perfect chip. The batter on the fish was crisp and light. Everything was spot on.
