Frydales, Syston, Leicestershire

What? Two Frydales reviews in one month?
Well, yes because they just opened a new shop in Syston. It’s on the site of Mackays which we reviewed back in February 2017. The chippy in a petrol station. It was National Fish and Chip Day, so it was cool to visit a brand new chippy on this day.

The place was busy, as expected, with an offer of everything half price.

The cod was excellent, firm white flakes in a super light batter. Even better than fish we’d previously had at Frydales in Leicester. I couldn’t resist the homemade tartare sauce again. The curry sauce was thick and had lots of flavour. Sadly the chips were a little chewy on this visit so I ended up leaving quite a lot of them.

There are a couple of other chip shops in Syston we’ll check those out next time we’re in the area.
